The city of Haverhill, Massachusetts is located in the northeastern part of the state approximately 36.3 miles north of Boston. Haverhill has a population of 58,969 and a total area of 35.6 square miles. During the 1800s Haverhill was known as the “Queen Slipper City of the World” because of its prominence in the shoe-making industry. Haverhill is part of Essex County.
